About Ruptco Designs
How did we come to be?
Ruptco Designs is a small company that started uploading artwork to Redbubble and instagram in January 2024 though the original spark that led there was in November 2023
This logo sketch was done on a whim (company name removed) having seen a design need with a company servicing my car and decided to pass some time with a basic concept and work from there.
There was no intention to start a business, I hadn't drawn anything for several years having been involved in freelance graphic design and portraiture in the mid 2000's.
With the concept done it was shown to the business along with a few ideas and began a better quality build. The Evo was still intended for a logo at this point so was drawn at 50% the scale / DPI I use now, despite this it had promise and potential for more than a logo.
Colouring the Evo took along time as I had to figure out how I would create the effects needed for different materials, some more successful than others. My prior work was portraits, paint and plastic are quite different to skin and hair.
Redbubble was chosen for print on demand and reach, there was no plan for a dedicated website.
Before joining Redbubble I spent quite some time looking at what the other artist were doing in terms of compositions, styles and use of colour. It was clear that everyone had found their place, I wanted come up with a repeatable design composition to enter the market without going into direct competition with someone else.
One of the goals was to have a strong brand identity, for the art work to be instantly identifiable. From studying Redbubble I could see an opening my style would fit into.
It took a few iterations to come to the layout used today, as you can see from the T-shirt pictured the squared layout
